











Through the Local Jobs Program, the Employment Facilitator for the Hunter region will work with employers and other key local stakeholders to develop employment solutions at a local level and support local people back into work.
The Local Jobs Program focuses on reskilling, upskilling and employment pathways to assist people to move back into jobs as the economy recovers from COVID-19. The Hunter has a dedicated Employment Facilitator and Local Jobs Support Officer for the region. The Hunter Employment Facilitator chairs a Local Jobs and Skills Taskforce and adheres tothe Hunter Local Jobs Plan. Taskforce delegates are members of the local community who have experience in upskilling, reskilling and local economic development. They also connect and collaborate with others to meet local labour market needs. There are various projects funded through a Local Recovery Fund of $780,000 to support projects meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan.
